Jennifer Watson Biography
Jennifer’s interest in the environment began as a child, growing up in the bush and nature of the Waitakere Ranges in West Auckland, NZ.

Her horticultural career began at seventeen when she worked in several plant nurseries in Auckland prior to attending Lincoln University for a Diploma in Horticulture leading to the establishment of her own organisation, Jenny Watson Garden Maintenance.

At 21 years of age Jennifer travelled to the UK to pursue her passion for motor racing. She found a job with Brands Hatch Racing Circuit as a driver. Part of the package involved preparing the circuit’s gardens for the Malborough British Grand Prix.
Jennifer then became a Garden Designer for a large landscaping company in the Royal Triangle, Gloucestershire. Working with the Civic Society of Cirencester, Jennifer prepared landscape plans, quotations, planting plans and oversaw site work for a wildlife corridor surrounding the town. Then came a 5 year spell in the UK with her own garden design company.

She then returned to New Zealand gaining a mind changing Certificate in Permaculture at Tiki Tiki Marae on the East Cape of NZ, and subsequently developed a 5 hectare property using permaculture as the principle design tool. She also attained a degree in Iwi Environmental Management and qualified in level 3 and 4 Autocad Engineering and Architectural Design and Drafting. Since then she has landscaped and maintained properties in Northland including remodelling a 12 hectare Kerikeri property.

Jennifer now is developing her own property at Ahipara, selling plants and providing eco-scape solutions for people of the Far North of New Zealand.
